No decision
slips past.
Policy Monitor reads everything the Riksdag, the Government, Region Stockholm and the City of Stockholm publish, summarises it with AI and tells you when a decision affects your organisation, in time to act.

Context
Decisions about what a company may sell, which contracts go out to tender and which rules apply are made every week in four different political bodies. The paperwork runs to hundreds of pages of agendas, officer reports, minutes and consultations, spread across different websites. Anyone without time to read it all usually finds out after the decision is made, when it is too late to have a say.
My role
I have been part of creating Policy Monitor.
Process
- Tell it what you follow: pick areas such as healthcare, traffic or housing, describe it in your own words, or follow entire committees.
- Agendas, officer reports, minutes, consultations and EU proposals are collected twice a day and summarised with AI.
- From the minutes you see what the committee actually decided, whether the proposal changed and which parties dissented.
- Procurement in Region Stockholm and the City of Stockholm: decisions to tender, award, extend or cancel contracts.
- Consultations with their deadlines and what others replied, EU proposals with Sweden's position, and an issue's full path from inquiry to the Riksdag's decision.
- Email when something new concerns you, before meetings and deadlines, and when a matter has been decided. Every summary links to the original document.

Outcome
Keeping track of politics used to take hours of reading every week. Policy Monitor turns it into a short summary of exactly what concerns you, delivered while there is still time to answer the consultation, contact the decision-makers or bid on the contract. It takes a minute to get started, works for a single consultant as well as a whole organisation, and never asks you to trust the AI blindly: the original document is always one click away. Live at policymonitor.se and free during the pilot.
What I learned
- An AI summary is only useful when the source is one click away.
- Summarising is the easy part. Deciding what matters to this particular user is the hard part.
- Build with the first users, not for them.
